Rizzo Mattingly Bosworth Is Now Rizzo Bosworth Eraut

Rizzo Mattingly Bosworth PC is proud to announce that the firm is changing its name to Rizzo Bosworth Eraut PC. The updated name reflects the significant contributions of Allen Eraut, who joined the firm in 2008 as a senior associate and was promoted in 2010 to shareholder.

Allen Eraut has spent his legal career defending individuals and businesses in civil lawsuits involving personal injury and property claims. He has defended local and national companies in asbestos litigation, handled multi-million-dollar casualty cases, and managed construction defect cases for both general contractors and subcontractors. Possessing a wide variety of trial, arbitration, and mediation experience, Allen has successfully argued in front of the Oregon Court of Appeals and Land Use Board of Appeals. He also tried over ten cases to verdict, including a defense verdict on the longest construction defect trial in Oregon's history.

In addition to taking on leadership roles at Rizzo Bosworth Eraut and championing the firm’s sustainability initiatives, Allen has actively supported the greater legal community through the years. He has presented numerous continuing legal education seminars, authored legal articles, and volunteered with The Lawyers' Campaign for Equal Justice, Lawyers for Literacy, the Classroom Law Project, the Multnomah Bar Association’s Imprint Program, and Legal Aid. For the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, Allen served on the board of directors, and chaired the Construction Practice Group.

“From day one, Allen has embraced the firm's commitment to our clients, lawyers, staff, and community,” said Rizzo Bosworth Eraut shareholder Claude Bosworth. “The inclusion of Allen in the firm name is a testament to his contributions.”

“Allen’s skills as a trial lawyer, mentor, and leader have been instrumental in the growth and success of the firm,” said founding shareholder Steven Rizzo. “We are delighted to place his name alongside ours.”

“I am humbled by this recognition and excited for what lies ahead for the firm,” said Allen.

Collectively, Rizzo Bosworth Eraut’s nine trial lawyers represent businesses, individuals, and insurers in complex litigation involving construction, environmental and toxic tort, casualty, premises liability, product liability, professional malpractice, trucking, insurance coverage, civil rights, and commercial disputes.

Founded in 1995, and regarded as a top firm in the region for complex civil litigation, Rizzo Bosworth Eraut earned Tier 1 rankings for construction litigation, product liability litigation defense, and insurance litigation in the 2023 edition of U.S. News – Best Lawyers® “Best Law Firms.” Oregon Business magazine has repeatedly honored the firm in the publication’s annual lists of “100 Best Companies to Work For in Oregon” and “100 Best Green Workplaces in Oregon.”

Michael Mattingly has transitioned to private practice in new areas of law. “We are grateful to Mike for the 12 years of partnership, and wish him well in his new venture,” Rizzo said.
