Allen Eraut Elected Chair of OADC Construction Practice Group

Civil defense law firm Rizzo Mattingly Bosworth PC announced today that shareholder Allen Eraut has been elected chair of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel’s Construction Practice Group.

The Oregon Association of Defense Counsel (OADC) is Oregon’s statewide association for defense attorneys. Founded in 1967, the non-profit membership organization provides defense-oriented civil litigators, as well as business and commercial litigators, with excellent continuing legal education and valuable networking opportunities. OADC’s purpose is to increase the professional skill and knowledge of its nearly 700 members, to enhance the services of the legal profession to the public, to improve the adversary system and to work for the prompt and fair disposition of disputes. OADC offers members the opportunity to participate in practice groups that are organized around key substantive areas of the law. The groups provide practicing lawyers with current information relevant to the areas of law in which they practice. As chair of the Construction Practice Group, Eraut will lead one of OADC’s most active practice groups.

Eraut concentrates his law practice on construction litigation and the defense of personal injury and property claims. He has represented local and national companies in asbestos litigation, handled multi-million-dollar casualty cases, and managed construction defect cases for both general contractors and subcontractors. Eraut possesses a wide variety of trial, arbitration and mediation experience including successfully arguing in front of the Oregon Court of Appeals and Land Use Board of Appeals. He has tried ten cases to verdict, including two recent defense verdicts on multi-tenant construction defect cases.
